Step 1: What is a Community Impact Statement?

The Community Impact Statement (CIS) serves as the official voice of our neighborhood within the halls of City Hall. While an individual’s comment is a single opinion, a CIS represents the collective, deliberated stance of the Neighborhood Council on specific City Council files or on other matters throughout the City. It ensures that when the City of Los Angeles makes decisions on policy, budget, or land use, the unique needs and perspectives of our local stakeholders are part of the public record.

Here is a link with information on how to prepare a CIS.
