Jose Galdamez is a Neighborhood Empowerment Advocate (NEA) with EmpowerLA. He is responsible for supporting Neighborhood Council Boards with capacity building, training, and organizing skills that empower board members and engage the community. Jose currently supports the Arleta, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Granada Hills South, North Hollywood West, Northridge South, Sun Valley Area, Sunland-Tujunga and Valley Village Neighborhood Councils.

Jose is assigned to EmpowerLA’s Innovation Division and works on many projects, including EmpowerLA Virtual Governance, the tech team, and planning. Jose previously served as the Elections Coordinator for EmpowerLA, supporting the Neighborhood Council operations citywide. Additionally, Jose is a member of the Systems Team, which provided technical support for the Department in maintaining the website, and database.

Jose graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Urban Studies and Planning.
