As VP of NCVV, I’ve been involved in every aspect of what we’ve done and have weighed in on issues concerning land use, park improvement, neighborhood watch, disaster planning, web site development, community grants and assistance to stakeholders. My professional experience was in public service at the federal and state levels and serving on the NCVV board has allowed me to continue to serve my community. Together we’ve improved safety, encouraged development that is respectful of the character of our neighborhood, improved streets, supported our outstanding schools, improved our beloved Valley Village park and developed strong relationships with city departments that ensure we receive great services for our community. We’re ready to help our neighbors in the case of a natural disaster, our ties to our great police and fire departments are strong, and we know our neighbors by name and watch out for each other. This is the place I am proud to call home, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to represent you on the city’s best NC Board. I hope to continue working for you for the next four years. Thank you for your vote.
Jennifer Massey – I have been a resident of Valley Village for the last 16 years and I am proud to call it home. I’m a business owner, a student, and a humanist. If elected I will work with my fellow Valley Village residents to improve the living, safety, and economic conditions in our community. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you.
Rebecca S. Wareham – I’ve been a resident of Valley Village for close to a decade. I know the people, shop the businesses, and care deeply for my neighborhood. I’ve witnessed it thrive in recent years, and want to see it succeed and grow. In college, I minored in political science. But, I’ve always understood, and shared with those who will listen, that our most pressing duty politically, is involvement locally. As such, it would be a pleasure to serve on my neighborhood council. Thank you.
Steven Lee Stokes – I am proud to have been elected two times to the Neighborhood Council Valley Village Board of Directors. For over 6 years I have been privileged to serve our community, as Chair of our NCVV Communications Committee and now Treasurer of the Board. We have worked hard to maintain strong affiliations with our police department, fire department, and others in city government. Our Board has vigorously defended the Valley Village Specific Plan and helped bring much needed city support to complete a $450,000 renovation of Valley Village Park. We are in the middle of a repaving project that is helping repair streets in Valley Village, and our Board continues to provide grants to the outstanding schools, and public library, that serve our families. As a resident who is raising her child in Valley Village it is important to me to be involved in what is happening in our city. I take personal interest in issues affecting child safety, school and community awareness. I’ve been involved with several community organizations, sitting on committees and event planning. I believe the choices we make directly affect our lives and we create the life we want to live. It is ours for the taking, we just have to reach for it, and I’d like firmly plant my feet in the foundation where my daughter lives, plays and goes to school.
Thank you.
Daniel Thomas Brady – I am a proud resident of Valley Village, husband and father, whose daughter attends our amazing educational asset Colfax Charter. My goal is to work closely with my fellow members, while at the same time looking for the best solutions and improvements this community can take great pride in. That’s what I love most about this community, it’s great pride. A pride I’ve seen as a young boy, whose father grew up in this community and passed the love of local history on to me.
